boardfizz is a small independent editorial about how games behave at the table. We collect about as little as a website can. There are no ads and no third-party trackers here, and we never sell what little we hold. This notice spells out exactly what happens to your information when you read a brief or write to the desk.

The short version.

  • We don’t run ads, ad networks or behavioural trackers of any kind.
  • We never sell, rent or trade your personal information.
  • One key in your browser remembers your cookie choice; that is all we keep there.
  • We hold only what you actively send us — a name, a reply address and your message.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete anything we hold, at any time.

Who we are

boardfizz is an independent game-systems editorial, presented here as a concept project. Where this notice says “we”, “us” or “the desk”, it means the people who write and publish boardfizz; the publisher details sit at the foot of this page. For anything raised below, the fastest way to reach a person is hello@boardfizz.pages.dev.

What we collect

When you write to the desk

The contact form and our inbox take a name, a reply address and your message, plus the channel you picked: a correction, a tip, a press query or an argument. The reply address has one job. It lets us write back. A pen-name or an alias works just as well in the name field — we don’t check who you are.

When you just read

Like every website, ours sits on a host that keeps standard server logs: an IP address, browser type, the pages requested and a timestamp. Those logs exist for security and diagnostics. We don’t tie them to you, and we build no advertising or behavioural profile from them.

What we never ask for

There are no accounts and no passwords on boardfizz. We take no payment details and never ask for your precise location. Nor do we collect the sensitive categories of information that privacy law treats with special care.

How we use what you send

  • To read your letter and write back to the address you gave.
  • To run, date and credit corrections in the open — unless you ask to stay anonymous.
  • To consider a tip or a letter for publication, under your name or initials, exactly as you prefer.
  • To keep the site secure, online and working as intended.

Your details are never used for marketing, profiling or advertising. We don’t do any of those things, so there is nothing to feed.

Cookies and local storage

We use exactly one localStorage key, and it only remembers whether you accepted or declined the cookie notice. That is the whole of our storage. No analytics cookies, no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers. The plain-English inventory lives in our cookie notice.

Who we share it with

Almost no one: your letter stays with the desk. Our email and hosting providers handle messages and server logs on our behalf, as processors bound by their own privacy terms, and they may not use your information for their own ends. Anything beyond that we disclose only if the law genuinely requires it. Where we’re allowed to, we’ll tell you first.

How long we keep it

Correspondence and our replies stay while they’re useful, typically up to two years. That window covers corrections, follow-ups and the odd argument that runs for months; after it, they’re deleted. Our host rotates server logs on a short cycle. Want your letters gone sooner? Ask, and we’ll see to it.

Your rights

We handle personal information under the privacy law that applies where the publisher is registered, and under the commitments in this notice. Whenever you like, you can:

  • ask for a copy of what we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct anything that’s inaccurate or out of date;
  • ask us to delete your correspondence;
  • withdraw consent, or opt out of publication;
  • complain to us first — and then to the privacy regulator where you live (in this example, the Example Privacy Office) if our answer doesn’t satisfy you.

Email hello@boardfizz.pages.dev and we’ll act on it within a reasonable time, usually well inside a month.

Children

boardfizz is written for an adult hobby-gaming audience and isn’t directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent us something, tell us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this notice

When this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything significant gets flagged on the site as well. Keep using boardfizz after a change and you accept the current version.
